Structured by nature
The glass vases in the Structured by Nature series were inspired by trees in the Czech-Moravian Highlands, the country of the designer’s childhood. Trees are fascinating by virtue of their monumentality and simultaneous fragility of detail. The series was inspired chiefly by the detail of the bark on various trees. But the designer drew inspiration not only from trees in general, he tried to transfer fragments of specific trees into another, more durable material. Each vase is named after the tree that lent it its shape and unique structure. The vases stand on the edge between sculpture and objects of everyday use, each unique in shape. Owners of individual vases will thus gain an authentic imprint of specific trees native to the Czech Republic.
